Conrad

A private on-call assistant for one person's inbox.

Conrad watches a single Gmail inbox and decides, as mail arrives, whether anything needs its owner's attention right away. If something does, it raises an alert. If not, it stays quiet.

It is not a product and not a service. It has one user, its author, and it is not open to signups. This page exists because Google requires any application requesting access to a Google Account to publish one.

What it can see

Conrad holds a single Google permission: gmail.metadata. That grants the sender, subject, date and labels of a message, and nothing further.

It cannot read the body of an email. That is not a policy or an intention — the permission itself refuses. Requesting a message body with this credential returns an error from Google, which is the reason it was chosen.

What it does

• Checks for newly arrived mail about once a minute.
• Judges from the sender, the subject and Gmail's own labels whether it looks urgent.
• Notifies its owner when it does.
• Never sends, replies, deletes, or modifies anything in the mailbox.
